General Tips to Buy Auto Detailing Equipment

A simple search on the Internet would reveal a large number of websites that deal with auto detailing equipment. Different websites offer different products, with each website claiming that its product is the top machine for the job. You can find carpet cleaners, pressure washers, and steam cleaners promoted as the ideal machine for cleaning the vehicle. While it is true that all these machines are suitable, not a single machine can be termed as superior to the others.

In fact, different types of auto detailing equipment have different functions. Pressure washers are more suitable for cleaning the hard exterior surfaces and engine components. Carpet cleaners are best used for cleaning the soft interior surfaces of vehicles, such as seat upholstery and car mats.

This post offers some general tips to buy various kinds of auto detailing equipment.

Low Flow Machines
All customers want their vehicles immediately after cleaning. The bulk of the time required for car detailing is not spent in actual cleaning but is taken for drying the surface. If the surfaces dry up quickly, the vehicles can be quickly handed over to the customers. Machines equipped with low flow technology, such as Daimer's XTreme Power® carpet cleaners, pass low quantities of water to the surface. As a result, the vehicle surfaces dry up quickly.

Modest Power
Auto detailing equipment need not have a high output power. A high-pressure output can damage the soft surfaces of automobiles. Even pressure washers for cleaning vehicles should not have an output pressure higher than 1500 psi.

Effective Auto Detailing Equipment for Vehicle Exteriors

When choosing auto detailing equipment for vehicle exteriors, it is important to remember the unique challenges involved in cleaning these areas. The outside of a vehicle often bears the brunt of dirt, water, and other road debris. A drive through the country or even a week of taking the car to work in the city can take its toll on the vehicle’s exterior. Apart from the usual drifts of dust and mud spatters, vehicle exteriors can also pick up road salt, grease, oil stains, bird spatter, and bug stains. If these deposits are not removed immediately, they may have a corrosive effect on the vehicle surface or paint job. While it is imperative to remove these stains and sediments, it’s equally important to use the right auto detailing equipment for the job.

Daimer® recognizes cleaning vehicle exteriors requires auto detailing equipment that is powerful, but not so powerful that it ends up damaging the body of the vehicle. A pressure washer like Daimer®’s Super Max™ 6120SCW,which is among the best car detailing equipment features safe pressure levels at 1000 psi and low flow rates at 0.5 GPM. Pressure washers that have pressure levels above 1500 psi can cause dents, scratches, and paint chipping on the vehicle’s exterior.

In terms of water flow rates, it is recommended to use pressure washing units that have relatively low water rates of 0.5 GPM, since this will reduce excessive water wastage. This is an important point to consider for mobile detailing jobs and for companies concerned about drainage fines.

Tips To Buy Auto Detailing Equipment

The three types of most commonly used auto detailing equipment are pressure washers, carpet cleaners, and steam cleaners. Each of these machines has a different type of functionality when it comes to automobile cleaning. Pressure washers are more suitable for cleaning hard exterior parts of the vehicle, while carpet cleaners are better suited for cleaning the soft interior surfaces. The following are some general tips to consider when preparing to buy each kind of auto detailing equipment.

Pressure Washes
These are powerful cleaning machines capable of providing a high output pressure, with some models from Daimer® allowing up to 8000 psi. For vehicle cleaning, though, such extreme output pressure levels are not required. In fact, pressure washers with an output pressure level higher than 1500 psi should not be used as auto detailing equipment. Machines with higher pressure levels might damage the metal body of the vehicle by causing dents and paint chipping. In addition, look for a low flow rate to help conserve water and reduce EPA fines for waste water disposal.

Carpet Cleaners
Carpet cleaners in Daimer®’s XTreme Power® series are also widely used as auto detailing equipment, especially for cleaning vehicle interiors. It is better to use machines that feature low flow technology, as such machines will ensure the vehicles dry quickly, often in as little as two hours. In addition, one must use specialized carpet and upholstery wands for cleaning.

Steam Cleaners
Modern steam cleaners are equipped with various technologies, such as ATIS® Anti-Bacterial Technology and automatic refill technology that make the cleaning process easier and quicker.

Maintaining Engine Compartments with Auto Detailing Equipment

Even during the most comprehensive car cleaning sessions, car owners simply vacuum the vehicle interiors and wash the exteriors. Many of them skip an important part of car maintenance – cleaning the engine and engine compartment. This generally happens because people are not aware about the importance of maintaining a clean automobile engine. Many also wonder about the best way to clean it. Using too much water or harsh detergents can ruin mechanical and electrical components in the engine compartment. Resolving all these issues is easy if you have an advanced auto detailing equipment from Daimer®.

To thoroughly clean the engine and engine compartment of vehicles without causing any damage to the delicate components, car wash experts recommend using steam based auto detailing equipment. The Super Max™ 6120SCW available from Daimer® is an excellent car wash equipment specially designed for maintaining vehicles. Since this auto detailing equipment generates dry steam with the minimum moisture content, it poses no risk to the delicate components in the engine compartment.

The high steam temperatures of 250ºF help soften caked dirt and tough grease. Powerful, yet safe, pressure levels of 1000 psi guarantee effective cleaning without causing scratches. This auto detailing equipment features a low flow rate of 0.5 GPM to cut down on water wastage and prevents damage to engine components.

Tips to Choose Auto Detailing Equipment

Many different of types of auto detailing equipment are available at present. A casual search on the internet would quickly confirm this. However, it does not mean that selecting a good quality machine for cleaning automobiles is an easy task. The abundance of options does not mean that all the machines available are equally competent. One has to choose the machines carefully and after a detailed research.

Type of Machines
Pressure washers, carpet cleaners, and steam cleaners are often the most popular machines for auto detailing. Each machine is suited for different surfaces. This post deals only with the cleaning of internal parts of vehicles and suitable auto detailing equipment for the task. The best machines for the task are carpet cleaners.

Why Carpet Cleaners
The internal parts of vehicles are mainly soft surfaces, such as mats, carpets, seat upholstery and plastic-coated dashboards. So, one does not require high-power cleaning machines for removing dirt from such soft surfaces. Carpet cleaners in Daimer®’s XTreme Power® series, with their modest output power and high efficiency, are best suited as auto detailing equipment on vehicle interiors.

How to Choose
When buying carpet cleaners for use as auto detailing equipment, one must keep two things in mind. First, the machine must have low flow technology and it should be equipped with a special upholstery wand. Low flow technology ensures that the surfaces dry up quickly, while upholstery wands allow for more efficient cleaning. Machines such as Daimer’s XTreme Power® XPH-5800TU are ideal machines for auto detailing.

Auto Detailing Equipment - Ensuring Complete Sanitization

Auto detailing equipment, such as carpet shampooers, steam cleaners, and pressure washers, offers complete interior and exterior detailing.

These machines are a must-have for any auto detailing business. Pressure washers clean car exteriors. Daimer® offers pressure washers for a range of commercial applications, including car detailing. Machines, such as the Super Max™ 6120SCW, are designed specifically for car wash applications. This machine has a flow rate of only 0.5 GPM and uses hot, 100 percent wet steam up to 250°F for removing grease, chewing gum, plant sap, hydrocarbons, and grime off car tires, wheels, windows, doors, and engines. The machine is often used for defrosting car exteriors during cold weather. If water availability is not a problem, you can use auto detailing equipment, such as Super Max™ 12800, Super Max™ 6000B, Super Max™ 12805, and similar models, with moderate flow rates for cleaning cars. These machines have pressure levels ranging from 1000 to 1500 psi, adequate for car washing minus the paint-damaging high pressure levels of industrial pressure washers.

For an interior car wash, choose from a range of auto detailing equipment featuring low flow technology and fast drying. Daimer® offers heated as well as non-heated carpet cleaning machines that are highly water efficient. Fast drying reduces the risk of mold and pest infestation, thus keeping the cramped, often ill-ventilated car interiors clean and odor free. Daimer®’s carpet cleaning machines are powerful tools for removing pet hair, stains, food residue, cigarette ash, and other dirt from carpets, car seats, and floor rugs. However, if you want to remove allergy-causing particles and organisms, such as dust mites, dander, pollen, cockroaches, and bedbugs, use a dry vapor steam cleaner. Steam cleaners are ideal for spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, and are offered with HEPA filtration systems and ATIS® anti-bacterial technology.

Auto Detailing Equipment that Takes Care of the Inside

A complete arsenal of auto detailing equipment includes units that deal with cleaning both the inside and outside of the vehicle. Cleaning car interiors can be more challenging that cleaning the outside. The carpet and upholstery is not only thick, it is not exposed to ready aeration or sunlight. This often forms the perfect conditions for germs and bacteria to take root, particularly in forgotten food or drink spills. Interior auto detailing equipment needs to be able to remove these kinds of deposits as completely as possible. At the same time, the auto detailing equipment should allow the interior to dry out quickly as well.

Daimer® understands the need for quick drying times when it comes to cleaning vehicle upholstery and carpeting. In most cases, the only way to dry these areas out is by simply keeping the doors open. In these awkward circumstances, it is no wonder that conventional cleaning methods often make it difficult for the interior to dry out completely. The result is usually a telltale damp or musty smell that can be hard to eliminate. Carpet cleaning units such as the XTreme Power® XPC-5700U and the XTreme Power® 5900IU use a special low water flow technology for cleaning. They rely more on suction and extraction powers to dislodge and remove dirt and debris.

This kind of auto detailing equipment allows for much faster drying times.

The XTreme Power® XPC-5700U allows carpets to dry in about 6 hours. The XTreme Power® 5900IU allows carpets to dry in about 2 hours with upholstery taking about an hour to dry.

Here’s Why You Must Clean Engines with Auto Detailing Equipment

Why Mobile Auto Detailing Equipment Is More Effective

Mobile auto detailing equipment can make a world of difference to any professional detailing service. If you bring vehicles in to clean on site or whether you have a mobile service that takes the detailing to the customer, mobility, and portability are important points to consider. The truth is that machinery that is awkward to handle or difficult to carry around will lead to reduced productivity. With mobile cleaning services, where your cleaning space may be more limited, mobility can often be the key to finishing a job fast and effectively. It is important to know just what type of portable auto detailing equipment to look for and how they can enhance your business.

Moving Around
Daimer® understands the different challenges that are involved in using auto detailing equipment. Professional services often deal with different kinds of vehicles, ranging from small cars to big trucks. The best way to maneuver around them in a manner that is both fast and efficient is to use mobile cleaning units. Daimer® also offers different levels of portability and mobility as well. For instance, pressure washers like the Super Max™ 6120SCW can be easily wheeled around and can even maneuver in tight corners. This makes it easier to clean out the hard-to-reach areas. Trailer-mounted units are also available for easy portability.

Another factor that can increase the mobility of auto detailing equipment is fuel. If the unit runs on electricity, it helps to opt for a machine that comes with durable and rugged extension cords that will extend the reach of the machine. Machines that run on fuels like diesel, propane, or gasoline can make it easier to deal with outdoor detailing jobs.

Tips To Buy Auto Detailing Equipment for Cleaning Vehicle Interiors

Heated Carpet Extractor

A casual search on the internet would be all it takes to figure out that there is a large variety of auto detailing equipment available. Pressure washers, carpet cleaners, and even steam cleaners are used for various purposes related to cleaning vehicles.

The real problem with purchasing these machines is that different machines have different functions. For example, pressure washers are not ideal for cleaning the soft interior surfaces of vehicles, due to their high output power. That means when selecting auto detailing equipment, it is important to understand the limitations and functions of each machine.

Choose Carpet Cleaners for Interiors
Carpet cleaners are the best auto detailing equipment for cleaning the interior parts of automobiles. A vehicle’s interior will usually have carpets, mats, and seat upholstery. Daimer's carpet cleaner, such as the XTreme Power® XPH-9300U, feature a handy upholstery wand and low flow technology that allows carpets to dry in as little as two hours.

Buy Low Flow Machines
Once you have made the decision to purchase a carpet cleaner, the next step is to decide which type of carpet cleaner you need. There are a number of carpet cleaner models from which to choose. When selecting a machine as auto detailing equipment, it is always better to choose machines equipped with low flow technology. Such machines ensure that the interior surfaces of the vehicles will dry quickly, and the vehicle is ready for use within a few hours.

Auto Detailing Equipment—Carpet Cleaning Options

Portable Carpet Cleaner Extractors

Auto detailing equipment for car interior cleaning includes using carpet cleaners. Car wash businesses require compact, lightweight carpet cleaners that can be used in the often cramped spaces within cars, trucks, trailer vans, and boats. Many car wash facilities make the mistake of purchasing low-grade carpet cleaners, which are suitable only for home use. These machines do not last long, do not offer optimal cleaning, and consume too much water, leaving behind soaked, dripping carpets.

Daimer®’s lineup of auto detailing equipment includes commercial-grade carpet cleaning machines. These carpet cleaners have superior parts that last longer under extreme temperatures. They are low-flow machines that use minimal water and reduce the likelihood of germs and bacteria from growing within carpets.

Daimer® retails heated and non-heated auto detailing equipment. Cold water carpet cleaners, such as the XTreme Power® XPC-5700U, include a special upholstery wand for cleaning seats and upholstery within cars. For additional cleaning power, you may add preheated water to the machine and use Daimer®’s special green carpet shampoo detergent, Eco-Green® Carpet Care & Upholstery Cleaner, containing Micro-Blasting® molecules. The XTreme Power® XPC-5700U offers 100 cfm airflow for powerful carpet washing. It creates strong vacuum extraction to remove most water from the carpet, allowing carpets to dry in about 6 hours and upholstery to dry in as little as one hour.

Daimer® also offers auto detailing equipment for exterior cleaning. Such machines as the Super Max™ 6120SCW feature low flow rates of 0.5 GPM and pressure levels of 1000 psi. Low flow rates help to reduce the amount of water consumption during use, while pressure levels of 1000 psi ensure dirt and grime is removed without damaging the surface.

Is Your Car Detailing Equipment Missing the Details?

Low-Flow Commercial Carpet Cleaner
Various different pieces of car detailing equipment are required for optimum cleaning of vehicles. For exterior cleaning, pressure washing systems are often used. This is because these machines are best suited for removing different types of dirt and debris, provided that the pressure levels are at or below 1500 psi. For interior cleaning, carpet cleaners and steam cleaners are often employed. These machines eliminate the dirt and grime from a number of areas within vehicles.

Vehicle interiors are often cleaned using carpet cleaning equipment. Daimer® has a number of carpet cleaning machines equipped with low flow technology that allows the machine to use less water for cleaning. In this way, such machines as the XTreme Power® XPH-5900I leave carpets dry in as little as two hours.

Steam cleaning systems are also useful machines for car detailing equipment. Steam cleaning machines cannot be used to clean long stretches of carpet or upholstery, but they are helpful for spot cleaning areas. In addition, they are ideal for cleaning hard surfaces such as glass windows, dashboards, and more. Many of Daimer® steam cleaners include their ATIS® anti-bacterial technology for eliminating more than 99 percent of disease causing germs and bacteria on the surface.

Vehicle interiors are notorious for having spills and stains that can ruin the look of the upholstery. Stains from food and dirt can cause unsightly discolorations that alter the look and appeal of vehicle upholstery. Using steam cleaners is an effective way to eliminate these spot stains. However, for complete carpet and upholstery cleaning, opt for an XTreme Power® carpet extractor.

Unlike car detailing equipment such as pressure washers used to blast debris off exterior vehicle surfaces, steam cleaners and carpet cleaners soften and dissolve them for easy removal from carpets, upholstery, and other hard surfaces. In this way, stains that are sticky or hardened can be eliminated with relative ease. Steam cleaning systems can be used on a number of different surfaces as well, provided, that they are not sensitive to high temperatures. However, these machines should not be used on painted vehicle exteriors, since the wiping required with dry vapor steam can create scratches.
